(Under construction – thank you for your patience)
The Papouin lab members are deeply concerned that research is too often conducted without adequately considering the environmental and climatic impact of reagents, equipment, energy usage, and travel involved in our daily scientific activities. Our lab, department (Neuroscience), and institution (Washington University in St. Louis) are contributing not only to the scientific advancement of humankind but also to anthropogenic emissions of greenhouse gasses, generation of waste, and resource depletion. Therefore, we, in the Papouin lab, feel a moral obligation to acknowledge and address the environmental consequences of our research activities and adopt more sustainable practices.
