The McDonnell Center for Systems Neuroscience is comprised of three positions: the Center Director, Director of Finance and Administration, and the Center Program Coordinator.

Tamara Hershey, Ph.D.

Director

Dr. Hershey’s tenure as Center Director began July 2018.  As Director, she oversees the McDonnell Center for System Neuroscience’s administrative team, and its Operations and Executive Committees.  Dr. Hershey and committee members are responsible for reviewing and approving requests related broadly to systems neuroscience at Washington University, in the form New Resource Proposals, the Small Grants Program and other special requests.

Laura Williams

Director of Finance & Administration

Laura oversees the Center’s administrative responsibilities and staff; including the oversight of CCSN extracurricular activities, personnel management, budgets and projections, account setup for funds awarded to PIs, payroll and sourcing, management of CCSN training grant and progress reports, and the annual offsite Neuroscience Retreat.

Carmen Horn

Program Coordinator

Carmen provides administrative support to the McDonnell Centers including organizing meetings, maintaining CCSN trainee database; helping with annual Neuroscience Retreat; coordinating the annual CCSN mini-retreat; coordinating travel for external speakers, coordinating the small grants program and new resource proposals; maintaining Center website, calendar and listserves; purchasing and approvals on Center accounts; handling space and asset audits; monitoring accounts for overdrafts and close out.
