Nick Ge

Undergraduate Student

Nick’s research investigates the effects of Nuclear Factor 1 (NF-1) expression on the human brain via animal models. He is involved in restriction enzyme cloning and colony preparation, and he is currently designing and executing his own unique cloning construct. What particularly interests Nick about his research are the implications that it carries over to the function and impairment of the human brain as well as the lab’s use of Dunnarts, a marsupial organism which facilitates easier access to and monitoring of embryos.

Nick is a Sophomore studying Microbiology and Spanish. He is studying on the Pre-Health track and is planning to go to Medical School to pursue a prospective MD or MD-PhD.

In his spare time, Nick enjoys going to the gym (a member of the WashU Powerlifting Team) and spending time with friends. Some of the clubs/organizations that Nick is involved with include Phi Delta Epsilon, the Romance Languages Department, and WashU Student Interpreters.
