Lisa’s field of interest is in medical research, particularly the psychological impact of disease or disorder. She has supported a range of projects including Oncology, Epilepsy, Dementia and Corpus Callosum Dysgenesis. Collaborating with participants who are contributing to medical research is something she has found to be personally rewarding.
She commenced her undergraduate degree in Psychological Science at the University of Queensland (Australia) when her family was young, completing the course with Honours in 2009. Since then, she has worked for the University’s School of Medicine and Queensland Brain Institute. While working she did postgraduate study and was awarded a Master in Mental Health in 2019.
When not at work she enjoys spending time in the natural world. Bird watching and bush walking are favourite past times, as is botanical painting. Exploring the diversity of the National Parks of the U.S. is something which she is looking forward to.
