Emran’s research focuses on the FGFR and DCC signaling pathways which relate to interhemispheric fissure remodeling during cortical development and the role of midline zipper glia cells in this remodeling. 

Emran did his B.S and M.S in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from University of Dhaka. He graduated his Ph.D. in neuroscience from Nagoya University, in his Ph.D. he focused on phosphoproteomics downstream of NMDAR to regulate PSD-93 during synaptic plasticity.  

Beside his research, Emran likes to work on his cooking skills and take the occasional fishing trip, when time permits. He also enjoys playing badminton and traveling to new places with his family.
