During my housing search, I wanted a place that provided slightly more separation from campus than the CORE, while still being walking distance. Coming to medical school after three gap years, I also wanted to have a place to myself, at a reasonable price point while still being comfortable and safe. For me, the President has been the perfect mix. It’s a 12-15-minute walk to campus, and less than five if you bike or scooter. It’s also right around the corner from Whole Foods, which is especially convenient if you don’t have a car. It’s a beautiful old building, and I love my studio because it isn’t just a single box like some places are; there’s a little kitchen/eating nook and a dressing area, so it feels like a bit more space. The President is also connected to the Park Royal, so you have access to their gym and terrace. Finally, the management couldn’t be nicer; they even put on social events like a barbecue, movie night, and Halloween decorating contest, and we have popcorn in the lobby every Friday! Reach out to me if you want a tour (and be sure to mention my name, and I’ll get a discount).
