Planetary Missions Preparation, Operation, and Data Analysis

Professor Alian Wang is the member of science team of the following two missions to Mars:

1. Mars Exploration Rover (MER) Mission (NASA), 2004-2018

• Mission operations roles: Pancam PDL & Min/Chem Theme Group
• MER mission data analysis:
  Phyllosilicates at West Spur in Gusev Crater (Wang et al., 2006a; Poulet, Carter, Wang et al., 2013)
  Sulfate-bearing subsurface soils (Haskin et al., 2005; Wang et al., 2006b, Wang et al., 2008; Wang and Ling, 2011; Wang 2013; Wang et al., 2016)
