Michael Wysession has coauthored more than 35 science textbooks as part of seven difference science programs at elementary, middle school, high school, and college levels with Blackwell/Wiley, Prentice Hall, Pearson, and Savvas Learning. Through these programs, Wysession been able to ensure the accurate and relevant representation of geoscience in multiple national textbooks at multiple grade levels.

An Introduction to Seismology, Earthquakes, and Earth Structure

by Seth Stein and Michael Wysession

Introduction to Seismology is aimed at an audience of beginning graduate students or advanced undergraduates. The text is designed as a teaching tool, with more than 1300 equations, 600 figures, and 180 homework problems (with solutions available to instructors). For more about this book, including digital versions of all of the figures and the homework solutions in pdf format, see the web site.

Experience Physics

by Geraldine Cochrane, Chris Moore, Jason Sterlace, and Michael Wysession

Experience Physics is a high school physics program implementing a learning model that organizes learning around phenomena giving students an authentic, real-world experience. Experience Physics includes a variety of hands-on and digital activities designed to reach every learner, and partners with Flinn Scientific to deliver high-quality inquiry labs, engineering workbenches, and performance assessments. The program is designed from the ground up around the performance expectations of the Next Generation Science Standards, using the 5-E’s (Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, Evaluate) to allow students to pursue engaging storylines that are usually developed around phenomena in the Earth and Space Sciences, which are heavily integrated into the program. Experience Physics is designed around the structure of the California Three-Course Integrated High School Science Model.

Experience Chemistry

by Chris Moore, Michael Wysession, and Bryn Lutes

Experience Chemistry is a high school chemistry program implementing a learning model that organizes learning around phenomena giving students an authentic, real-world experience. Experience Chemistry includes a variety of hands-on and digital activities designed to reach every learner, and partners with Flinn Scientific to deliver high-quality inquiry labs, engineering workbenches, and performance assessments. Experience Chemistry is designed around the structure of the California Three-Course Integrated High School Science Model and has two versions: one version for California that sticks closely to the California curriculum model and a national version that varies slightly through the inclusion of additional topics.

Elevate Science

by Zipporah Miller, Michael Padilla, and Michael Wysession

Elevate Science is a K-8 phenomena-based science curriculum immersing students in the inquiry process. This is science elevated for problem solving, critical thinking, and the NGSS performance expectations. Separate grade-level volumes are available for elementary school (K-5), and middle school, where volumes are organized either as three volumes of a 3-course integrated program or three volumes for Life Science, Physical Science, and Earth & Space Science.
