Pankaj is Post Doctoral Research Associate in Shoghi’s Lab at PRTC, WashU. His focus of research is to develop machine learning based model to predict pathologic complete response (PCR) to neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) in breast cancer patients. Before joining WashU he was research assistant in CVMI project in Jio Institute, Navi-Mumbai under the supervision of Dr Sudipta Roy.
His PhD research was in AI applications in stroke risk assessment under the guidance of Prof Jasjit S Suri and Prof Neeraj Sharma. There, he developed deep learning based methods to segment and quantify the atherosclerotic plaque in B-mode carotid ultrasound images.
His vision extends beyond personal well-being to encompass a world where holistic health is the norm. He advocates for a society where disabilities are viewed not as hindrances, but as catalysts for innovation and champions of inclusivity. Firmly believing in equal access to cutting-edge healthcare for all, regardless of socioeconomic status or geographical barriers, he dedicates himself to serving as an Executive Council Member in the Networking and wellness and outreach committees, tirelessly working towards this shared vision of a healthier, more equitable future.
