Edward Kirumira, PhD

Dr. Kirumira has conducted extensive research work in HIV/AIDS, emergent diseases, and international health issues. His other research interests include program development, monitoring and impact evaluation. He is a Fellow and member of the Executive Council of the Uganda National Academy of Sciences, a member of the Population Association of Uganda, and the Founding President of the Sociology and Anthropology Association of Uganda. He has provided administrative and organizational support in 11 African countries as well as Mexico, Denmark, the United Kingdom and the United States. Additionally, he has taken up technical advisory roles for organizations, including for the Joint United Nations Programme on HIV/AIDS (UNAIDS), United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), and Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA).
