His research interests are access to health care among underprivileged and/or under-represented populations, particularly women, children and people with mental health issues. He teaches and supervises students on health systems and health policy issues. In his teaching role, Dr. Ibrahim references best practices from the United States health system, in an effort to expose students and future researchers to perspectives that will influence research and enhance solutions to the myriad of national and international issues that affect people’s health and social well-being. More recently, he has explored mental health among people who were incarcerated in Ghana.
