The neuroskeletal mechanisms of Diabetes and Skeletal Health (DaSH-neuro) project is an ongoing clinical study to evaluate early changes in bone and nerve health in adolescents with Type 1 Diabetes (IRB #201908120). Our goals are to understand (#1) how diabetes impacts developing nerve and bone and (#2) if changes in the nervous and skeletal systems are related. We aim to identify shared mechanisms underlying the pathophysiology and progression of nervous and skeletal system disorders in young patients with diabetes that can be used to establish new management strategies and therapeutics. We are currently recruiting participants from 12 to 18 years of age. If interested, please contact our research coordinator Ivana Shen at ivana.shen@wustl.edu or use the link below.
