Maura Kepper is a Research Assistant Professor at the Prevention Research Center in St. Louis and The Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis. Dr. Kepper’s research focuses on employing innovative methods for measuring health behaviors (e.g. physical activity) and social determinants of health (i.e. social and physical environments) within an interdisciplinary context to investigate factors that influence obesity, and cardiometabolic risk in pediatric populations. Her long-term career goal is to influence street-scale urban design and land-use policies that create neighborhood environments supportive of outdoor physical activity to reduce growing disparities in obesity. She has a Doctorate in Public Health from the Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center School of Public Health and is a member the Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health.
