About the International PHP Research Group

Place is a major contributor to the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities. The International PHP Research Group aims to understand how place-based factors contribute globally to population health and health disparities through research and capacity-building activities.

Our goal is to build and sustain a cooperative group of scientists and researchers around the world who will work together on studies, courses, and programs that elevate research and practice of space- and place-based public health science. This work will inform evidence-based strategies centered on promoting inclusive and healthy places—a critical task for achieving health equity locally and globally.

Our work focuses on both research and capacity building, and our core values include health equity, team science, working at global and local scales.
