Drew Crenshaw (he/him) is a doctoral student in Public Health Sciences and a graduate research assistant at the Prevention Research Center. His research interests primarily focus on community resilience, environmental justice, climate change, and urban studies, and he collaborates closely with the People, Health, and Place Unit. Crenshaw holds an MPH in Environmental and Occupational Health and a Bachelor of Science in Public Health and Urban Affairs from the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
Prior to joining Washington University in St. Louis, he served as a program manager at the Center for the Study of Community Health at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. His previous work has included community-engaged research on family systems, social cohesion, collective efficacy, vaccine confidence, substance misuse, and the concept of livability in urban areas. He has also conducted research highlighting success stories from local health departments seeking accreditation through the Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB).
