- World Health Organization: The global action plan on physical activity 2018 – 2030 – The WHO created a global action plan to promote physical activity by developing a framework including four objectives and twenty policy actions.
- CDC Physical Activity: State and Local Strategies – This page outlines evidence-based strategies for communities to increase access to physical activities.
- CDC: The Community Guide Physical Activity – The Community Guide for Physical Activity houses various resources for physical activity including interventions, summary tables, implementation, and promotional materials.
Identifying Factors Associated with Physical Activity
- American College Health Association: Ecological Model of Public Health – The Ecological Model of Public Health focuses on both population-level and individual-level determinants of health and interventions.
Measuring Physical Activity
- CDC Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) Adult Physical Inactivity Prevalence Maps – Provides maps to highlight the differences in prevalence of physical inactivity among different demographic categories using data from the CDC BRFSS survey.
- CDC National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) – The National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) is a program of studies designed to assess the health and nutritional status of adults and children in the United States.
- CDC National Health Interview Survey (NHIS) – The National Health Interview Survey (NHIS) monitors health of the United States and provides data on a broad range of health topics collected through personal household interviews.
