Bio
Michael’s interests stem from his time living and working in a variety of locations from France to Palestine to East and West Africa to Haiti. Prior to returning to the Brown School for his PhD, Michael worked in two different federally qualified health clinics in low income areas of New Orleans, providing mental health services for HIV and Hepatitis C infected individuals. Based on his global health background, Michael’s research examines mental health services in under-resourced environments – both domestically and internationally – particularly looking at how effective programs can be tailored to the local environment and scaled up in a sustainable fashion.
