Learn@Work is regularly updated to keep the software fresh, enable new features, and ensure operability.
Learn@Work is WashU’s implementation of the cloud-based learning management system Cornerstone SBX. Cornerstone, a leading provider of training and talent systems, updates the software three times each year.
The Learn@Work Team uses a systematic approach to ensure the quality and operability of each new Cornerstone update. When a new update becomes available, the team researches new functionality to understand all impacts and benefits. As shown in Figure 1, these features are first applied to the Test Environment where their functionality is confirmed over the course of five to six weeks. At the same time, the Learn@Work Team revises WashU’s customized user guides and other documentation. At the end of the test period, some new features are applied to and configured in the Production Environment.
The Learn@Work Team communicates with Learning Administrators and Reporting Administrators throughout the update process. Notifications are sent before and after updates are applied to both the Test and Production environments. Learning Administrators and course owners should test their courses after each update to ensure usability and identify potential problems. Report any issues with your courses to the Learn@Work Team for investigation by submitting a ServiceNow ticket.
