Renowned Taiwanese-American  HIV/AIDS researcher, since the beginning of the epidemic.

The founding scientific director of the Aaron Diamond AIDS Research Center.

Recipient of 14 honorary doctorates.

Recipient of the  Presidential Citizens Medal (2001).

His team is currently working on vaccine for the COVID-19 virus.
