Kate Gettinger
Kate Gettinger is a practicing optometrist with a specialization in low vision and geriatrics. She received her optometry doctorate from the University of Missouri: St. Louis and performed clinical rotations at the Norton Sound Regional Hospital in Nome, Alaska, and the Kansas City Veterans Affairs Medical Center and she received the William Feinbloom award for low vision clinical practice specialty. She received her master’s in public health from Washington University in St. Louis with a specialization in health policy analysis. Her research interests include preventable blindness, dry eye disease, myopia progression, health inequalities, health literacy, and quality of life in relation to ocular health status and disability.
