The inclination towards research started when Anjali was doing her BITS Pilani practice school program (6 months) at National Centre for Biological Sciences, India in 2016. Thereafter, she moved to Taiwan through Taiwan International Graduate Program in Interdisciplinary Neurosciences at Academia Sinica and finished her PhD in August 2021. Anjali was in Dr. Josh Wu’s laboratory where she was involved in projects dealing with Schwann cells and enhancement of peripheral nerve regeneration after transection injury in rats. Anjali continued as a postdoc for 6 months in the same lab to finish the second manuscript. On January 4, 2023, Anjali joined Dr. Cavalli’s lab where she will focus on the mechanistic roles of satellite glia cells and their communication with other resident cells of dorsal root ganglia to support nerve regeneration.
Apart from research, most of Anjali’s time is consumed in experimenting with gluten-free recipes. But her main interests are yoga, DIY crafting at home, and camping after a long hike.
