Jessica Black
Gwich'in Athabascan
Jessica Black (Gwich’in Athabascan) is a doctoral student at the Washington University’s
Brown School. Jessica is a member of the Gwich’in Athabascan tribe and holds a BA in
Social Work from the University of Alaska — Fairbanks (UAF) and a MSW from Washington
University in St. Louis. Her doctoral interests include issues of sustainability in rural Indigenous communities and what the concept of sustainability means to these communities.
