The Kathryn M. Buder Center provided many opportunities for me while I attended
Washington University in St. Louis. As a Buder Scholar, my area of concentration was
Social and Economic Development. I was co-chair of the pow wow and the American
Indian Student Association. My interest in research grew while in school and I continued
to work within the Brown School after my graduation in 2010. I became a Research
Assistant at the Buder Center and the Health Communication Research Lab before moving on to my current position at the Washington University Center for Diabetes Translation Research. I am a Research Coordinator, working with the National Congress of American Indians, Native researchers around the country, and current Buder Scholars interested in diabetes and obesity research. I am also an evaluation consultant, evaluating Native programs for stakeholders, such as financial education programs and health conferences.

The Center offered me the support I needed during my time at the Brown School, and it continues to be a valuable resource for me. I appreciate everything the Center continues to do for students who want to pursue their MSW
