The impact the Kathryn M. Buder Center for American Indian Studies has had on both my Master’s and Doctoral education cannot be understated. Not only was it a welcoming place, where my Alaska Native identity was honored and supported, but the mentoring I received from Dr. Brown, Dr. Tovar, and others was paramount in me experiencing success in the program and in Indian Country. I was also able to connect nationally and internationally through professional development opportunities afforded to me. I will always cherish the friendships, colleagues and memories I have made at the Buder Center and will continue to stay connected with the alumni association and through my personal relationships with my mentors and friends.
