Eric Pinto (Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians/Zuni) received his Bachelor’s in Health Management at Southeast Missouri State University in 2010 and is a recent 2020 graduate of the Brown School, receiving his Masters in Social Work with a concentration in American Indian/Alaskan Native studies. As a Buder Scholar, he participated the American Indian Student Association (AISA) student group and served as Co-Chair in 2019. In addition, Eric also participated on the 2019-2020 WashU Men’s Club Volleyball team as the team’s middle hitter. During the summer of 2020, Eric was a SAGE recipient and worked with Dr. Ed Spevak (Curator of Invertebrates at the St. Louis Zoo) on assisting tribal nations with food sovereignty projects
and pollinator conservation. Eric now serves the Buder Center as Project Coordinator where he will be developing the Digital Indigenous Storytelling project to highlight stories of Indigenous people living in Missouri.
