President’s Message
Welcome to the Washington University Black Law Students Association (BLSA) website! This website provides useful information about our chapter and the 2024-2025 executive board members.
WashULaw BLSA exists to support its members by focusing on the concerns and well-being of Black students in their pursuit of success in law school. Moreover, since its founding in 1973, our organization has maintained a strong commitment to the St. Louis community. Every year we host community-building events and a variety of academic, professional, and social programs.
I am so proud and excited about our commitment to using our legal skills to serve our St. Louis neighbors, intentionally creating joyous spaces for our students and connecting our community to incredible resources to mold the best advocates, thinkers, and lawyers of our time.
I am ecstatic at the prospect of exploring the role of Black attorneys amid an election year, as we fight our way into positions at law schools across the country and continue to incredibly redefine what it means to be a Black law student in this day and age.
To our first-year law students, we pray for a successful year of growth and new memories. To our second-year law students, welcome back to a new year of opportunity. To our third-year law students, may you leave your mark on WashULaw this year.
We hope to keep everyone – from our alumni to prospective students and those simply interested in learning more about our organization and community – informed on WashU BLSA’s engagements via this website, our Instagram page (@blsawashulaw), and our email campaigns.
