Congratulations to our 2025 BLSA Scholarship Recipients!
This year WashULaw BLSA awarded scholarships to two high school students and one undergraduate student. See their information below:

Malik Taylor
Malik Taylor is a junior at Maryville University majoring in Accounting. He serves as the President of Student Ambassadors of Maryville, demonstrating a commitment to leadership and campus engagement. As an honors student, he explores complex topics like democracy through independent research, examining its philosophical foundations and real-world applications. Passionate about governance and policy, he strives to make a lasting impact through law and leadership.

Zarina Knox
Zarina Knox is a senior at Metro Academic and Classical High School. She has served as co-captain of the cheer team; an active member, regional participant, and mentor for new members in Speech and Debate; a class representative; an executive board member of the Black Student Union; and a participant in various community volunteer programs. Zarina has also earned numerous academic and extracurricular achievements, including a regional Excellence in Persuasive Speaking award and Most Improved Player on the Varsity Cheer Team.

AnnLauren Djoko
AnnLauren Djoko is a junior at Washington University in St. Louis, majoring in Philosophy-Neuroscience-Psychology with double minors in Legal Studies and Sociology on the pre-law track. She holds multiple leadership roles across campus, serving as Treasurer of both the Association of Black Students and the Black Women and Femmes Collective, DEI Chair of Alpha Phi Omega, and Parliamentarian of Phoenix (a collegiate chapter of the National Association of Colored Women’s Clubs). Additionally, she is the Music Director of Unending Praise and Reverb A Cappella groups, Vice President of the A Cappella Advisory Council, an actress in Black Anthology (WashU’s oldest cultural production), and a Bear Ambassador with WashU Admissions.
