Nhial Tutlam, PhD, MPH

Dr.  Tutlam earned his Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Tennessee State University and both his Master of Public Health (MPH) and PhD degrees from Saint Louis University. He was mostly recently the Chronic Disease Epidemiology Program manager in the Division of Health Promotion and Public Health Research at Saint Louis County Department of Public Health (DPH), where he oversaw chronic diseases and mental health surveillance. Dr. Tutlam was also the Project Director for Project RESTORE, a four-year, $1.7 million minority youth violence prevention project funded by the Office of Minority Health in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. In addition, Dr. Tutlam is an adjunct instructor of epidemiology at the Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis and teaches a chronic disease prevention course at Lindenwood University. His research interest include chronic diseases, maternal and child health and intergenerational impact of war trauma of South Sudanese.
