The Young Scientist Program aims to engage the next generation of diverse scientists from the St. Louis region through programs that emphasize hands-on research and personalized mentoring. Our goal is to help capture and encourage students’ interest in science at an early age, before college, so that they have the opportunity and support to pursue a career in STEM.
For over thirty years, the Young Scientist Program has directly impacted the lives of thousands of students in grades K-12 in St. Louis, Missouri. We have provided over 400 high school students with summer research internships, over 200 high school students with long-term academic and personal mentorship, and over 20,000 K-12 students with hands-on exposure to science in their classrooms.
The Endowment for Science Literacy supports the Young Scientist Program to improve science education in the greater St. Louis area. For benefactors who recognize the importance of science to our society’s future, the endowment provides an opportunity to make a difference in how science is communicated to the public and how diverse students become scientists.
The Young Scientist Program is a vibrant and enduring vehicle for the launching of scientific careers and the critical dissemination of accurate science to the public. Your valuable gift to the Endowment for Science Literacy, benefiting the Young Scientist Program, will work toward building a solid financial foundation to ensure the success of our mission.
