Katherine Benza is a rising 3rd year PhD student in the Plant and Microbial Biosciences program and a committee member in WiSTEM. I study the symbiotic relationship between arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and land plants. Specifically, I study the function and mechanism of plant cytoskeletal restructuring that occurs upon colonization of the fungus in the plant root.
