Mars is investigating the timing and action of enzymes in the biosynthetic pathway of tabtoxin in the plant pathogen Pseudomonas syringae.  Outside of the lab, Mars enjoys playing board games, doing crafts, and drinking craft beer. She recieved her B.S. in chemistry and biology from Concordia University Chicago in 2013. Mars’ favorite antibiotic is erythromycin.
