Brett Virgin-Downey

Brett received his B.S. in Chemistry from Rice University in 2015 and joined the Wencewicz lab in December 2017. Brett is studying beta-lactam rings as mechanism based inhibitors of glutamine synthetase and related ATP-dependent ligases. Outside of lab, Brett plays Water Polo and Ultimate Frisbee and loves board game nights with his friends.  Brett’s favorite antibiotic is Aztreonam.
