A total revamp of WashU Olin’s website for the first time in more than a decade is exciting! That said, any major change can evoke anxiety. We’ve been updating you all spring on what will be new, the research behind the changes and the importance of mobile design.
As we enter the fall semester and speed toward our “go live” date at the end of September, we’d like to fully assure our staff and faculty that, although our site will look much different, we have you covered. All the vital elements we have now will still be there … but improved. Let’s look at some of these elements:
- Programs and executive education: All programs will still have a suite of webpages that provide all the information our prospects will need. These program pages have been improved so they have consistent navigation for website users. In addition to providing prospects with the information they need, pages will include more student and faculty spotlights to bring our people to life.
- News and blog: We will still be telling all of our great stories. A major improvement includes embedding our stories on relevant pages all over our website, allowing prospects to dig more deeply into what’s happening at Olin. In addition, the news and blog section of our website will live on the same domain, giving our website exponentially more appeal to search engines.
- Faculty bios: We’ll still have a robust faculty section on our website. Users will still be able to find faculty by area, as they can on our current site. One main improvement in this area (drumroll, please …) users will be able to search for faculty by name as well.
- Program finder: Prospects will still be able to quickly see which program we offer in our main navigation. But now, they’ll also be able to search our programs by type, format and modality.
- Site search: Users will still be able to use the search function on our website. Now, however, search results will not only include our website content, but news/blog stories.
We’re very close to launch. Your marketing team colleagues are very stoked! If you have questions, please reach out to your brand manager. We’re here to help clarify anything.
