As you likely know, we added a few questions to the Spring 2020 course evaluations in order to better understand the student experience during our transition to emergency remote teaching. One of the questions asked, “Please comment on how to improve the online learning experience in this course.” This prompted over 2,000 comments, including many constructive suggestions and kudos for instructors who excelled in online delivery.
Meghann Pytka, Jay Turner, and I analyzed these comments and have written the attached memo as a way to think about what went well during the spring and where we have opportunities to improve. These suggestions have helped inform our approach to training and course conversion support, and we hope they will be helpful to you, as well.
