The Engineering Education Division in partnership with the McKelvey DEI Committee will be hosting a morning workshop focused on inclusivity in STEM courses. All McKelvey faculty and instructors are invited to join us on August 16th from 9am to noon. Denise Leonard, PhD, Associate Director for Graduate Student and Postdoc Programs at the Center for Teaching and Learning, will act as our facilitator.
This workshop will focus on evidence-based methods and strategies to foster student belonging in your classrooms; topics include:
- Course climate
- Course expectations
- Course content
- Group Learning
Participants are urged to bring their syllabi and laptops so that the workshop can be as practical and hands-on as possible. Breakfast refreshments and lunch to be provided.
