What is a Navigator?
A mental health navigator is someone with specific training in how to help people successfully navigate the mental health care system. Gateway2Wellness (G2W) Navigators are the G2W Dashboard helpline and confidential chat support.
G2W Navigators can:
- answer questions about the G2W program
- assist in finding resources that fit your preferences
- provide technical assistance for the G2W Dashboard
- Navigators do not provide clinical care but they can help you problem-solve and navigate the mental health care system
For clinical care, you can contact WU’s Department of Psychiatry or your Employee Assistance Program.
How do I connect with a G2W Navigator?
- Participants can schedule their own call with a Navigator at a time that works best for them, Monday – Friday, on the G2W Navigator Bookings Calendar
- Participants can send a direct text message to the Navigator from their mobile phone
- Participants can also send an alert to the Navigator through the Dashboard’s “Alert the Navigator” feature.
How are conversations with a Navigator kept confidential?
Conversation details are known only by the G2W Navigators. We are an independent program and are not associated with any evaluative part of WUSM or BJC. The only outgoing information from the Gateway2Wellness program are de-identified usage stats and anonymous feedback to improve the program, well-being resources, and workplace culture. We take confidentiality very seriously.
Are there any other limits to confidentiality?
As you can understand, we may need to breach confidentiality if there is a danger to yourself or others.
