Sophia Ayubi
Research Technician
Sophia is a Research Technician for our TRIADS seed project. She earned her BA in Psychological & Brain Sciences from Washington University in St. Louis, where she worked in the Emotion and Relationships Lab. She is continuing her contributions to the lab and later intends on pursuing clinical psychology at the doctorate level, in the hopes of one day applying concepts from emotion regulation research to a clinical setting. Outside of the lab, Sophia enjoys reading, playing ukulele, and watching true crime documentaries.
Abby Berkowitz
Project Coordinator
Abby is the Project Coordinator for the MARCER study. She received her BA in Psychology and Legal Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she worked in the Addiction Research Center. She is interested in treatments that develop emotion regulation skills and how these treatments may relate to depression. Outside of the lab, she loves to cook, go on walks, and spend time with friends and family.
Angie Gross

Davide Pace
Project Coordinator
Davide is the Study Coordinator for the Married Couples Follow-Up study. He received his BA in Psychological and Brain Sciences from WashU, where he became interested in emotion regulation, specifically interventions for increasing men’s ability to understand and express their emotions. Outside of the lab, he works as a mental health professional at a private practice that rehabilitates men who have previously been incarcerated. In his free time, he enjoys lifting weights, hikes/run around STL, playing pickle ball, and anything with snakes!
Kevin Trent
Research Technician
Kevin is a Research Technician for our MARCER study. He received his BS in Psychology from Arizona State University, where he worked in the Adolescent Stress and Emotion Lab and for the Arizona Twin Project. He is interested in how cognitive aspects of emotion regulation, such as rumination, are linked to neurobiological processes and internalizing disorders. In his free time, he likes to go rock-climbing, play chess, and spend time with friends and family.
Mengzhe Wei
Research Technician
Mengzhe is a Research Technician for our MARCER study. She received her BS in neuroscience and behavioral biology from Emory University, where she worked in the Behavioral Immunology Lab, the Bauer Memory Lab, and the REACT Lab. She is interested in cognitive effort and emotion regulation in depression. Outside of the lab, she enjoys going ice skating and painting.
