In 2015, the Digital Approaches Reading Group was founded by English graduate students John Ladd, Kenny Gradert, and Melanie Walsh. The goal of this group was to extend the conversation around the Humanities Digital Workshop-sponsored faculty projects to those interested in, or just starting out with, digital work and to topics not directly covered by these projects, such as digital pedagogy and new media.

We hoped that the group might be an ideal venue for graduate students, faculty, and staff from a variety of humanities disciplines and technical backgrounds to share and discuss digital work. Since receiving its first grant from the Center for the Humanities in 2015, DARG has continued to pursue this mission and to grow in its membership.
