Dr. Apollo Kivumbi is a recent addition to the Psychiatry fraternity in Uganda and a volunteer lecturer at the Department of Psychiatry, School of Medicine, College of Health Sciences, Makerere University.  He is a young career researcher at Ethics for Mental Health Digital Innovations for Young People in Africa (EMDIYA) at University of Oxford, UK.  Dr. Kivumbi has a strong interest in child and adolescent mental health. Specifically, his research interests lie in optimizing functioning among children and adolescents diagnosed with neurodevelopmental disorder, which disproportionately affect HIV-infected individuals. Dr. Kivumbi also looks at use of technology to improve mental health outcomes among families affected by HIV/ AIDs, with children and adolescents suffering from mental illness.
