Anita Arinda is a psychiatrist who trained from Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda. She has a great passion for child and adolescent mental health research in low resource settings with particular interest in neurodevelopmental disorders especially Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). As part of this training program, Ms. Arinda plans to assess understanding and retention of HIV information among adolescents with ASD. Currently, she is working with the Infectious Disease Institute, on the comparative effectiveness of treatment as usual (antidepressants and individual/ supportive psychotherapy) and Group psychotherapy among HIV-positive adult patients with depression.
