Harriet Ajilong, MBChB

Dr. Harriet Ajilong is a pediatrician with over 6 years of clinical practice, medical education and public health. She has broad experience in designing, implementing, monitoring and evaluation of Maternal, Newborn and Child health programs. She is also a national trainer of a number of in-service training curricular for health workers, an active member of the Uganda Pediatric Association and the National Newborn Steering Committee which platforms she uses to advocate for the improvement of child and adolescent services in Uganda. As a clinician, Harriet is known for her passion, dedication and commitment to patient care. Currently, she is lecturer in the department of Pediatrics and Child Health at Gulu University where she teaches and mentors upcoming young medical professionals. She also has great passion for child and adolescent research in resource limited settings. Her research interest is in evaluating the relationship between micronutrient deficiencies particularly Vitamin D and mental health disorders in adolescents living with HIV.
