Dr. Raymond Atwebembere is a dedicated Medical Doctor who graduated from the Islamic University in Uganda. Currently employed at the International Center for Child Health and Development, as study coordinator for the NIH funded Obuvumu study (R34MH128753). With a passion for mental health, Dr. Raymond also serves as a CHILD-GRF Research Fellow, specializing in the study of suicide behavior among adolescents living with HIV. He is driven by a profound commitment to unraveling the intricate relationship between mental health and chronic diseases, with a particular focus on improving outcomes. Dr. Raymond’s empathetic approach and extensive understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable populations inspire him to make a lasting impact in the lives of individuals grappling with mental health issues within the context of chronic illnesses.
