Apryl Joe named MSW Commencement Marshal

The Brown School is recognizing the outstanding graduating students who have been chosen to represent the graduating scholars during Commencement.  Apryl Joe (Navajo) has been chosen to as the MSW marshal.

MSW marshal Apryl Joe is honored to be the first American Indian/Alaska Native student chosen as a Brown School marshal. Following graduation, Apryl will move to San Francisco to become a Social Impact Fellow with Third Plateau. She hopes to focus her career in community development work with Indigenous communities. 

During her time at the Brown School, Apryl was also honored as a Buder Scholar with the Kathryn M. Buder Center for American Indian Studies, a Policy Scholar with the Clark-Fox Policy Institute, and the 2017 co-chair of the American Indian Student Association. 

“I will miss being surrounded by passionate, inspiring, and innovative people who are motivated to make big social impact in the world, especially my fellow Buder Scholars,” she said. “The in-depth conversations about indigenizing and revolutionizing the future will always be with me.”
