Welcome!
From Molecular Machinery to Therapeutic Solutions
Life depends on biomolecular machines that have evolved over millennia to function with remarkable precision. Our goal is to understand how these machines work and why they malfunction in ways that lead to disease. As the physicist Richard Feynman famously said, “It is very easy to answer many of these fundamental biological questions; you just look at the thing!” By using electron microscopy to visualize these biomolecular machines at the highest resolution possible, we aim to uncover how they operate and where things go wrong. Once we fully understand their mechanisms, we can develop strategies to prevent malfunctions and explore new therapeutic interventions.
Our research interests include:
- Membrane organizers: SPFH Proteins
