The Pan-American Intercollegiate Team Chess Championship (often shortened to Pan Ams) is the nation’s largest college chess tournament, featuring schools from around North America. This year, the tournament was held in Charlotte, North Carolina from January 2nd to 5th, hosted by the Charlotte Chess Center.
This year, the WashU Chess Club sent out two teams (A and B) of five and six players, respectively, one in the Open section and one in the Under 1800 section. While the teams faced some considerable resistance, we managed to pull off some big upsets!
