Trans-Atlantic Form Institutions Book Workshop

Held on September 29-30, 2018 in Saint Louis, MO, USA, this workshop brought together faculty from the University of Amsterdam, the School of Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences (EHESS, Paris), and Washington University in Saint Louis with a goal of transforming pre-circulated papers, all proposing key concepts for pragmatic inquiry, into book form. 13 papers were pre-circulated and read before the workshop took place, a discussant presented each working paper to the group, after which other workshop participants offered further commentary and suggestions for improvement and coherence with the larger book project. The workshop concluded with commentary from Michèle Lamont on how all the papers converge or depart and a more general discussion about how to proceed to a first book draft. Past and present TAF graduate students were present to observe the workshop proceedings and to record discussion for future participant use. Below are a few pictures taken at the workshop.
