Dr. Li’s lab advances methods to study large-scale ensemble systems that are ubiquitous in nature and human society and has developed computational methods to study dynamics of rhythmic systems using phase reduction techniques, including synchronization of oscillatory systems, such as neuron, chemical, and circadian oscillators. Dr. Li collaborates with ShiNung Ching on development of control systems to study neural activity and neuronal networks. Students working with Dr. Li will undertake research in mathematical modeling, optimization, optimal control, and machine learning to study neuronal network activities.
