Dan Moran, PhD

Dr. Moran pursues research largely in primate models in his laboratory at the School of Medicine. Dr. Moran has mentored over 19 doctoral students. He works to understand how the brain controls voluntary upper arm movements and he is also working to identify alternative control signals for brain-computer interfaces, which restores function in patients who have paralysis or neuromuscular disorders. Dr. Moran has launched three new companies and has active collaborations with Eric Leuthardt, Wilson Ray and Ilya Monosov.
