Dr. Raman uses novel electrophysiological recording techniques, optical imaging, behavioral and computational modeling approaches to study how multi-dimensional and dynamic odor signals are encoded as neural representations (odor coding). A part of his research is focused on developing neuromorphic devices such as MEMS microsensor arrays for non-invasive chemical sensing and algorithms for addressing parallel engineering problems. Dr. Raman collaborates with Shantanu Chakrabarty in completion of this work.
