Each summer a one-week neural engineering Boot Camp is held for potential trainees finishing their first year of graduate study. It consists of a set of full-day experiences.
- Morning: TNNT faculty (mainly engineering faculty mentors) present various primers on state-of-the-art computational analyses.
- Afternoon
- Students use these techniques on real neurophysiological data to solve a specific neural engineering issues.
- TNNT faculty circulate and oversee each groups’ progress (i.e. answer questions).
On the last day (Friday), the students will present their analyses and conclusions to the whole group as a power point presentation.
TNNT Trainees
- Trainees selected for fellowships after their second year are required to attend the afternoon sessions of the boot camp where they will interact with the first-year trainees and help with their analyses.
- Second year trainees are welcome to attend the morning boot camp as well to refresh their computational knowledge.
Attendance is taken in order to determine how engaged each student is in the program.
